Hi, we're Rue and Shelley.
The Green Move KC is the two of us. When you text, one of us answers. When your totes show up, one of us is carrying them.
How this started
It started with a lot of cardboard.
We also run an Amazon and Walmart business, and that means boxes. So many boxes. Every week we go through a pile of cardboard that gets used once and driven to a recycle center.
At the same time, we noticed something about plastic totes. Everybody has them. People use them all the time, and then most of them end up sitting empty in a garage.
Put those two things together and the idea was pretty obvious: sturdy totes that get used for a move, picked up, cleaned, and used again by the next person. Nothing to break down and drive to a recycle center later.
There weren't many tote rental companies in Kansas City, and we thought we could do it in a way that felt more personal. So we started The Green Move KC.
